Datin Yee Shyun graduated with an Honours Degree in Law from University of London in 2004 and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) the following year. She also holds a Master Degree in Law (LL.M) from University of Malaya majoring in Company Law, Securities Regulations, Land Law, Intellectual Property Law and ICT Laws.
She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2005. Immediately upon her admission to the Bar, she was a Legal Assistant at the dispute resolution department of a large KL-based law firm. During this time, she gained her exposure in the areas of arbitration, construction law disputes, insurance law and debt recovery matters.
Prior to joining our firm, she was practising in a prominent KL-based law firm where she worked on a variety of corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporate loan restructuring, corporate finance, drafting and negotiating documents for corporate and/or commercial deals as well as attending to conveyancing and property financing works.
Datin Yee Shyun joined our firm in 2012 as an Associate and was subsequently admitted as a Partner of our firm in 2015.
She has extensive experience in the areas conveyancing, banking and finance as well as other property-related transactions involving all types of real estate. Currently, she focuses her practice predominantly on property and banking matters including sale and purchase agreement for high value property transactions and property developments, leases, tenancies, property financing, corporate banking, commercial financing, for both conventional financing as well as financing under Shariah principles.
She advises a diverse range of clients across the real estate industry including listed and private companies, local and international investors, government-linked corporations and private clients.
Besides property and banking matters, she also handles corporate and commercial matters and has worked on a variety of mergers and acquisition matters, joint ventures, shareholders agreement and is frequently involved in other general corporate and commercial advisory work.
Datin Yee Shyun is very thorough in her work and she handles even complicated matters with patience and grace. Apart from handling legal work, she is also involved in the management and administration of the operation and finance of our firm.
