Dato' Dr. Teh Tai Yong, a Senior Executive Partner of our firm, graduated with LL.B (Hons) degree from University of London. He did his Bar Vocational Course in the University of The West of England (UWE), Bristol and passed the English Bar Examination with Very Competent (VC) grade. He was called to the Honorable Society of Lincoln Inns, London as a Barrister-at-Law in England and Wales in October 2004 and subsequently admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2005. He obtained a Master Degree in Law (LL.M) from University of Malaya, majoring in Company Law, Securities Regulations, Land Law, Intellectual Property Law and ICT Laws. Possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, he also completed a Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) from SEGI University.

His areas of practice include corporate & commercial laws, real estate laws, strata management laws, banking laws, data protection, information technology & communication laws, and intellectual property laws. He is very actively involved in high value properties transactions and corporate works, including acting as solicitors for S P Setia Berhad, EcoWorld Development Group Berhad, IOI Properties Berhad and few other property developers listed on Bursa Malaysia. For corporate matters, he acts for several public listed companies in Malaysia and Singapore, including Top Glove Berhad. He is a registered trademark, patent and industrial design agent and he advises clients on protection of intellectual property rights and registration procedures.

Dato’ Dr. T Y Teh is a Visiting Associate Professor of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Chongqing (SWUPL) and Hainan University, Haikou (HU). He is a much sought-after speaker on legal topics at international and local conferences in Malaysia, China and ASEAN. He authored a book entitled “Profitability, Stats From The Legal Aspects”, which discussed and provided practical legal opinion and advice on property transactions in Malaysia, and co-authored law articles, which were published in The Star, International Journal of Law and Management (IJLM), Computer and Telecommunications Law Review (CTLR) and Current Law Journal (CLJ). He has also been invited to share his views in television, radio and online interviews, including Channel News Asia, RTM, MelodyFM, Sin Chew Pocket Times, Growth Malaysia etc.

He is currently serving as the Vice President of the China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Center (CALCC), the National Vice President of the Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM), Legal Bureau member of the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC). He is also serving as an Arbitrator in Hainan International Arbitration Court and Nanning International Arbitration Court.

For his contributions to the community, he was awarded the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysian (TOYM) Award (Political, Legal, and Government Affairs Category), the Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs Award (MIYE), the McMillan Woods Global Awards (Legal Services Excellence) and the Outstanding Alumni Award of ATC Law School.
